I Did It! I Took the ALS Icebuck Challenge!!

Here it is, and I did it! And OMG that water was COLD!

Please donate to the ALS Association!! And for those who don’t know (I didn’t), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to control muscle movement is lost and in the later stages of the disease patients may become totally paralyzed.

It’s a pretty horrible way to die.

Now for those of us wondering if this whole thing is silly or not, know that between July 29 and August 12, The ALS Association and its 38 chapters have received an astonishing $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year. Silly maybe. But look at the good that it’s doing! 🙂

So remember always, together we can change the world!

And you know, you don’t have to get a bucket of icewater dumped on you to donate! Just head right here (every dollar helps!): http://mda.org/disease/amyotrophic-lateral-sclerosis?iq_id=70605377&source_code=140802AAAC030804-VQ16-c

Love and Light!
