Announcing! Autumn Changes ~~ Book Three in Seasons of Love (now available for pre-order)

I am so excited that my new novel, Autumn Changes, went live today at the Dreamspinner Press website. And once more it has a cover painted by the remarkable Paul Richmond! It is quite simply gorgeous!

I was pretty involved with this one and I worried that I was driving poor Paul insane. There was some cultural stuff that needed to be exactly correct and he came through in shiing colors (pun intended and acknowledged!).

Where I work there are many diverse cultures. People from all over the world. People from Vietnam, Thailand, Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, and more…including Samoa.

Before working there, I think I was totally ignorant of Samoa. I mean I knew it existed of course, but knew nothing at all about it. But the Samoan people I’ve gotten to know are extraordinary people. I have fallen in love with them and their culture. They are a proud people and I have come to find out that they have been around for a couple thousand years and the theory is that they are the origin of the island peoples. They have even taught me some of their language.

I began to entertain the idea of writing a novel about a young Samoan man and what it would mean to him, his family, and more, if he came out as a gay man. Especially since a huge percentage of Samoan people are Mormon. I finally decided to tackle the story and it was the most difficult thing I’ve ever written and I hope I did a good job. I did give the galley to a young man named Phillip and he assured me that I did a good job and that he is very excited about it. Makes me so happy because I know if someone does an Amazon search, it could very well pop up and I knew I had to get everything right!

Here is the cover blurb….

Asher Eisenberg is a brilliant actor, destined for fame and fortune. But a traumatic incident in his past has caused him to reject his Jewish heritage and hide from everyone behind walls of arrogance and selfishness, and he blurs his loneliness with a lot of sex and alcohol. When he meets Peniamina Faamausili, however, he strangely can’t stop thinking about the young man.

Peni is struggling with his sexuality, the Mormonism he was raised in, and the Samoan heritage that calls to him. He longs to receive the pe’a—the traditional Samoan tattoos– and learn more of his people’s ways. He has no interest in a man like Asher, who appears to use men and put them aside and whose drinking can’t help but remind him of the drunk driver who killed his father. But he can’t deny his attraction to Asher and finally agrees to a date if Asher can go thirty days without a drink.

Asher is about to go on a journey that will awaken him to his friends, his past, his future, and even to love. But that awakening could well demand the sacrifice of the dream he holds most dear.

It was also a difficult book to write because the love interest is Jewish by heritage–or at least he is from his mother’s side, which is what counts according to Jewish culture. Asher has some stuff to deal with so that he can not be ashamed of who he is. I was relieved that at least one Jewish person says I got all that right too. I even spoke with a brilliant rabbi to get the scriptures right.

So I am very proud of this book and very excited to reveal the cover and thrilled to announced it is available for preorder as of today!

This book is such a huge blessing in my life. I am so grateful it came together the way it did! So grateful for my publisher, my editor Andi Byassee, for my gorgeous cover by Paul Richmond, and for so much more! I can’t count!

Life is good!

Is there anyway I could be happier with my new cover? I don’t think so! OMG!

It was created by the loverly and talented Paul Richmond and it in now way could convey my story any more than it already does. I am SO happy! Soo soooooo soooooooo happy!

Life is good!

And just wait to you read this story! You are going to love it!

Here is the blurb: Kit Jefferies, a part-time department store Christmas elf, is an artist who loves life and his family. Unfortunately, his car dies at a rest stop in the middle of nowhere as he is heading home for Christmas. Enter Nick St. George.

Nick is a very unhappy man—he’s achieved his professional goals only to find the rest of his life bleak and empty. Deciding there was only one way to make everything right, he is on his way to San Francisco on a dark mission, and even the horrible sleet storm that blocked his path won’t deter him. That’s when he found Kit.

At first, Nick is pretty sure rescuing Kit was a big mistake. Kit’s personality is just too, well, effervescent. But as the miles go by, Kit begins to bring light to his dark heart. It might even be bright enough to illuminate a Christmas miracle.

I hope you will enjoy it and I will let you know when it is available!

Cover For “All Alone in a Sea of Romance” Has Been Released!

Cover For “All Alone in a Sea of Romance” Has Been Released!

So it came today and it is by the wondrous and sweet Paul Richmond. I am so happy.

A week or so ago he sent me four covers and we tweaked and narrowed them down and then over the holiday weekend (while I was camping) three covers arrived and we narrowed and tweaked and this is it!

Paul was so kind to make a few little changes and I have something I am very happy with.

Not only are the colors just gorgeous and eye-catching, but I got to pick out the cover model! I found someone perfect and they used him!

So he actually looks like how I imagined him to be, or awfully damned close!

I could not be happier!

And here is the final (at last) blurb for my novel (to be released in October)…

I’m Jude Parks, writer of gay romances. Even though I’m good at what I do, the irony is that I haven’t exactly been lucky in love. My friend Jeannie says it’s because I settle for Mr. Right Now instead of holding out for Mr. Forever. I say I’d rather regret what I have done than what I haven’t.

I only came to Romantic Voyages, the biggest romance convention in the country, for business. Yet in no time I got mixed up with a gorgeous cover model, weeping artists, drag queens, and crazy housewives—and became the prime suspect in a murder investigation. Well, they say any press is good press.

Maybe I should’ve stayed home. But then I never would’ve met Tommy Smith, the craziest, most outrageous, silly, sexy man I’ve ever known—a man who makes me wonder if it may be worth holding out for Mr. Forever. A man who might turn my rotten luck around. But only if we survive the weekend and I clear my name….

Happy Day!

Namaste,

Cover for “Men of Steel” Released!

So I got the official cover from Julianne Bentley. It really surprised me. It is nothing like I expected. Nothing at all. I was expecting the typical M/M cover with a twist. You know, close-up on rippling torsos all crushed together, but with costumes. And that isn’t what it is.

Does that mean I don’t like it?

Great Scott! No! Not for a minute!

As I said in a few earlier posts about this story, I was a comic book collector for many, many years. I originally got into them because I had this passionate crush on a boy. Don’t worry I was a boy too, this isn’t anything squickie. We were both about fourteen or so, maybe a year younger, and I was SO hot for him but was too naïve to know it. He liked Spider-Man and let me read some of his books and I liked them. It wasn’t just to get close to him.

But it made us good friends. We started writing and drawing our own comic books. Then years later when I was trying to be heterosexual (as heterosexual as I could be, which wasn’t too much) I was with this woman and we used to play these role-playing games like D&D but it was about heroes instead. Between the two, I had had these superheroes in my head for between twenty-five and thirty and more years and a few of them finally made it to the written page and SOLD!

All of this was a side step and I want to get back to the cover. See, collecting those comic books for so many years makes it so I know comic book covers like you wouldn’t believe. The layouts. They way they are done. The title locations. The fonts used. The colors. And so much more.

And I tell you the cover for Men of Steel is a very clever comic books cover. And it took me a bit to get the little joke! Notice the hero in reflected in the glasses is taking off his shirt to reveal his costume? What do you bet he is going to take off a lot more than that? Just look at the grin on the face of the man with the glasses!

I am really really proud of this story. It has a very special meaning to me. And I hope you will check it out when it is released. And remember! This anthology will also be in paperback!

I can’t wait to see my copy!

Love to you all!

Namasté,
B.G

Hello One and All and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Hello One and All and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

To all my readers, I want to wish you a Merry Kwanukkah Solstamas (did I get them all?).

Exciting news! Finally, my newest story, Christmas Cole, has been released.

I am very excited about the story, I think it is one of my best yet and a testament of writing and selling for about a year and a half now. WOW! Who’d thunk it?

Here is a little information about my newest story (from the wondrous Dreamspinner Press):

Javier Torres was a sweet, plump, but very unpopular child. But over the years, he turned himself into a gorgeous gym god. The problem is he’s also become an egotistical snob. But one day his arrogance pisses off the wrong little old lady, and he wakes up to find that, like the Prince in Beauty and the Beast, he’s been transformed into something from his personal nightmares.

Javier has nowhere to go but back home, where to his surprise, he is greeted with open arms, not just by the family he remembers, but by his new brother-in-law, Cole. Cole turns out to be a friend from childhood who harborded a secret crush on Javier. He doesn’t see what Javier sees when looking at himself in the mirror. Cole suspects there might be a pretty heart inside that new body, but has Javier learned enough to earn Cole—instead of coal—for Christmas?

You can find Christmas Cole by clicking right here!

Christmas Cole is a pseudo sequel, well, more of a spin-off really, from last year’s story, Christmas Wish. What I am saying is that you in no way need to read Christmas Wish before reading Christmas Cole (but if you don’t have Christmas Wish and want to read it first, well, feel free to buy both! ~ LOL!).

In that storyChristmas Wish, Harry is a bear in total lust with Javier. His biggest wish is to have a gorgeous body and get to know Javier. Magickal things happen, but not the way he hoped… But this is Romance! AND Christmas. I hope you know they have happy endings! I think these two stories may just be my favorites.

You can find Christmas Wish by clicking right here!

I hope you will check one or both of them out. They are a way of my saying Happy Holidays to each and everyone of you.

With love,
B.G. Thomas

The Cover to “Trust Me” Has Been Released!

So I just got the cover from my next story, Trust Me which will be released on July 17th. It is my first book from Amber Allure.

I am excited to have sold a book to Amber as they only have open submissions a time or two each year. That I got in is a good thing! They have a good repuation and are now open to any future submissions from me.

I am also very proud of this story. It is VERY romantic.

(and pretty hot too!)

This is my longest piece to date so far as well.

As I said in a previous post, it is about “a widower named Neil who agrees to go to a Dude Ranch vacation with his best friend Amy, the sister of his dead wife. He is anything but an outdoorsy kind of guy and he is afraid of horses. But he goes. There he meets Cody, a wrangler, a man young enough he could almost be Neil’s son and the attraction is immediate. But before anything can happen, Neil must deal with the fact that he has been denying his homosexuality all his life. Can he?”

Keep tuned for the particulars!

Desert Crossing Cover – Part Three; This is It!!

Something wonderful happened last night! I got the cover for Desert Crossing and I am so excited I was and am just about brought to tears.

It is simply amazing.

It is gorgeous.

If a cover sells a book, I am going to sell a million copies.

WOW!

I can’t believe how perfect this cover is. It is RIGHT out of the story. It is exactly what I wanted and more! The characters look right. The scene looks right. The cover tells the story of how the characters meet, and it does it on so many levels!

I just could not possibly be happier!

And if you want to see how REALLY gorgeous the cover is, then click on the picture down below to make it larger so you can see details… I love it!

The story is now on the “Coming Soon” list from Dreamspinner Press and you can find it by clicking Right Here.

And this is just the beginning!

If this is the cover for a novella, which my publisher must believe in to invest so much in it, just think of when I send them my novel. And they are going to LOVE it!

But first, to finish my dude ranch story! I am having a wonderful time writing this new one!!

Namasté,
BG Thomas
