Hello One and All and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Hello One and All and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

To all my readers, I want to wish you a Merry Kwanukkah Solstamas (did I get them all?).

Exciting news! Finally, my newest story, Christmas Cole, has been released.

I am very excited about the story, I think it is one of my best yet and a testament of writing and selling for about a year and a half now. WOW! Who’d thunk it?

Here is a little information about my newest story (from the wondrous Dreamspinner Press):

Javier Torres was a sweet, plump, but very unpopular child. But over the years, he turned himself into a gorgeous gym god. The problem is he’s also become an egotistical snob. But one day his arrogance pisses off the wrong little old lady, and he wakes up to find that, like the Prince in Beauty and the Beast, he’s been transformed into something from his personal nightmares.

Javier has nowhere to go but back home, where to his surprise, he is greeted with open arms, not just by the family he remembers, but by his new brother-in-law, Cole. Cole turns out to be a friend from childhood who harborded a secret crush on Javier. He doesn’t see what Javier sees when looking at himself in the mirror. Cole suspects there might be a pretty heart inside that new body, but has Javier learned enough to earn Cole—instead of coal—for Christmas?

You can find Christmas Cole by clicking right here!

Christmas Cole is a pseudo sequel, well, more of a spin-off really, from last year’s story, Christmas Wish. What I am saying is that you in no way need to read Christmas Wish before reading Christmas Cole (but if you don’t have Christmas Wish and want to read it first, well, feel free to buy both! ~ LOL!).

In that storyChristmas Wish, Harry is a bear in total lust with Javier. His biggest wish is to have a gorgeous body and get to know Javier. Magickal things happen, but not the way he hoped… But this is Romance! AND Christmas. I hope you know they have happy endings! I think these two stories may just be my favorites.

You can find Christmas Wish by clicking right here!

I hope you will check one or both of them out. They are a way of my saying Happy Holidays to each and everyone of you.

With love,
B.G. Thomas

The Cover to “Trust Me” Has Been Released!

So I just got the cover from my next story, Trust Me which will be released on July 17th. It is my first book from Amber Allure.

I am excited to have sold a book to Amber as they only have open submissions a time or two each year. That I got in is a good thing! They have a good repuation and are now open to any future submissions from me.

I am also very proud of this story. It is VERY romantic.

(and pretty hot too!)

This is my longest piece to date so far as well.

As I said in a previous post, it is about “a widower named Neil who agrees to go to a Dude Ranch vacation with his best friend Amy, the sister of his dead wife. He is anything but an outdoorsy kind of guy and he is afraid of horses. But he goes. There he meets Cody, a wrangler, a man young enough he could almost be Neil’s son and the attraction is immediate. But before anything can happen, Neil must deal with the fact that he has been denying his homosexuality all his life. Can he?”

Keep tuned for the particulars!

Desert Crossing Cover – Part Three; This is It!!

Something wonderful happened last night! I got the cover for Desert Crossing and I am so excited I was and am just about brought to tears.

It is simply amazing.

It is gorgeous.

If a cover sells a book, I am going to sell a million copies.

WOW!

I can’t believe how perfect this cover is. It is RIGHT out of the story. It is exactly what I wanted and more! The characters look right. The scene looks right. The cover tells the story of how the characters meet, and it does it on so many levels!

I just could not possibly be happier!

And if you want to see how REALLY gorgeous the cover is, then click on the picture down below to make it larger so you can see details… I love it!

The story is now on the “Coming Soon” list from Dreamspinner Press and you can find it by clicking Right Here.

And this is just the beginning!

If this is the cover for a novella, which my publisher must believe in to invest so much in it, just think of when I send them my novel. And they are going to LOVE it!

But first, to finish my dude ranch story! I am having a wonderful time writing this new one!!

Desert Crossing Cover – Part Two

So last night I got the Paul Richmond cover sketch for Desert Crossing and I am stunned.

I wish I could share it with you, but alas, at this time I am not allowed.

Needless to say it is an author’s dream. It is a scene right out of the story, near the beginning, and it is gorgeous.

I had one or two tiny little requests, and qualified them by the fact that I knew an artist knew better and if he wanted to ignore me, I was happy.

I have been very blessed with my covers and this is just another one.

It made me write more of my new story. For dreams of another wonderful cover!

I will post the cover soon!

Paul Richmond to Paint New Cover!!

I got some amazing news the other day. The cover to my story Desert Crossing will be done by Paul Richmond! I am still stunned and amazed.

I’ve even exchanged an email or two with him and he is open to all kinds of input.

I am a big fan of his work and you should check out his website. He has actually done the “cover” work for two of the daily dose projects I’ve been a part of; Naughty or Nice and Midsummer’s Nightmare. Both of those pieces are spectacular!

I got all kinds of input and sometime soon I will get a sketch to comment on. He recommended that I send all my thoughts through Dreamspinner (I am sure it is for some kind of legal and editorial reasons), but he has my email address for more immediate concerns.

I will want to buy a print! I know I won’t be able to afford the original, but I can’t wait to see it. I can’t imagine that I will be disappointed. I have bought a number of books just because he did the cover. If covers sell books, his will sell Desert Crossing!

And since it is a Bittersweet Dreams novella, it’s need the help! LOL!
Bittersweet Dreams stories are the ones that have “nontraditional endings. It’s an unfortunate truth: love doesn’t always conquer all. Regardless of its strength, sometimes fate intervenes, tragedy strikes, or forces conspire against it. These stories of romance do not offer a traditional happy ending, but the strong and enduring love will still touch your heart and maybe move you to tears.”

I will tell you all that eventually, both characters (sequels in my head) have very very happy endings!

Check out Paul Richmond! His website is here: http://www.paulrichmondstudio.com/

Make sure you go to the section on “Printed Works” under his “Galleries” category. I just can’t wait! I get so excited I don’t know what to do!

Ben

Cover Art for “A Secret Valentine” / Never Say Never

So I have the cover now for the anthology Never Say Never which will include my story A Secret Valentine.

Very nice don’t you think?

I thought you might like to see it.

Yup, and there is my name, right up there on Cupid’s shoulder.

*smile*

I am looking forward to seeing this one and reading the other stories. I’ve wanted to sell to Silver Publishing for a long time and I finally managed it. This bodes well for the future.

A few more calls for submissions and then I am just going to start writing what I want to write. Figuring out this new pirate story and not making it like every other pirate story every written is going to be a bitch!

Namasté,
Ben

The Real Thing

So I am utterly thrilled. Yesterday, around two o’clock in the afternoon, I sent off another story to Dreamspinner Press. The story—which is called The Real Thing—is a contemporary cowboy story written for their anthology, “Riding Double.” They described their wants thusly:

The romantic allure of the cowboy is unparalleled. These sweaty, dusty icons of the West, past and present, still melt hearts and speed pulses, whether the man’s wearing a ten-gallon hat, chaps and spurs, or nothing at all. We want to read about how love softens the most hardened country rider and how passion fires the most stoic ramrod’s blood. Give us romance with a Western flair, because in this anthology, these men will be riding double into the sunset.

They are just one publisher in three looking for such stories!

So I gave it a try and The Real Thing is a story I am quite proud of. I went and spent a day and a night on a real ranch which is owned by a gay couple I know. I learned a lot. Things I would never have expected.

Now the thing is, the deadline was a week ago, and they were willing to let me send it in late—what with my vacation to go see my Mom and the fact that now I am in the overtime from hell at work (12-hour labor intensive days). I come home each day utterly exhausted, so the story took me far, far longer to write than others its same length.

Then to my shock, at 11:35:24 last night, I am sitting at my computer and I get an email with a contract!

WOW. Less than twelve hours and I have a contract. First story of the year, nine stories in less than a year.

And it will be in print! There will be a real physical copy!

    Hi BG,

I’m happy to say that I’d like to include your story, “The Real Thing,” in the Riding Double anthology, which is scheduled for release on February 18, 2011. Attached is a contract… …I hope to get an initial edited version of the story back to you in the next few weeks.

Thanks again for your submission. I’m looking forward to working with you on Riding Double.

    Anne

Leap and the net will appear. Isn’t that what I say?

*sighs happily*

Thank you SO much to for her kick-ass editing and working late to get it done. (((HUGS)))

The anthology will be available around February 18th! I’ll keep you all in the loop!

BG Thomas
